The aim of this course is to explore and develop ideas, pedagogies and associated subject knowledge, to promote and enhance the teaching of times tables in the classroom.
Teachers will engage in mathematics from the primary curriculum and explore mental strategies in order to support pupils’ conceptual understanding to mental fluency.
Learning Outcomes:
- Improve pupils’ progress in the multiplication tables check.
- Develop strategies to support knowledge recall of the times tables and associated division facts.
- Support teachers’ knowledge of conceptual and relational understanding to develop times table fluency.
- Provide opportunities for teachers to discuss next steps for key groups of pupils based upon assessment.
