This course is aimed at maths leaders or Lower Key Stage 2 year leaders, supporting them to develop a shared understanding of effective approaches to the teaching of times tables and to ensure consistent implementation across classrooms. Participants will explore key pedagogical principles, supporting subject knowledge and mental strategies drawn from the primary mathematics curriculum. Through engaging with the mathematics themselves, leaders will be equipped to support teachers to strengthen pupils’ conceptual understanding and secure the progression from understanding to mental fluency.
