  Hampshire Planning Tools for Pupils with SEND

  The planning tool supports teachers to identify an appropriate starting point and plan aspirational expectations of progress over time. It is intended that the tool is used for individual pupils with the expectation this is integrated into whole class teaching - removing barriers and enabling participation in whole class learning.
  
  

  The Rochford Review (2016) recognised the need for pupils with SEND, working below age related expectations to have ‘the opportunity to demonstrate both attainment and progress’ taking account of the ‘potential differences in the way these pupils learn’.
  
  Following successful use in many schools the materials have been updated to include further guidance on effective teaching strategies and we have now added a Pre-Y1 to Y1 booklet to the set.

  Professional Development Opportunities

  Professional development for effective use of the Hampshire SEND Planning Tools is recommended and can be booked through the learning zone (search SEND Planning Tool mathematics) to attend a course. Alternatively, a half day bespoke HIAS training through management partnership can be provided for senior lead teachers, SENCo and or maths manager to train colleagues. This can be delivered virtually through TEAMs.

  Please note: 

  • Costs above are for printed resources but also entitle you to access digital versions via our Moodle. 
  • VAT and P&P charges apply for Hampshire academies and non-Hampshire schools.

  Different combinations of year groups can be offered (e.g. if you are an Infant School and do not need Y3) and the newly added Pre-Y1 to Y1 booklet can be purchased individually to complete already purchased sets. Please email htlcdev@hants.gov.uk for prices.
  

  
  Payment by Hampshire maintained schools: The cost of the resource will be charged to your school budget on dispatch of a completed order. Please state on the order form the cost centre, SIO (if applicable) and GL code you wish this to be charged to.

  Payment by Academies and non-Hampshire schools: an invoice will be raised for your order plus P&P on dispatch. Please specify on the order form if you require a purchase order number to be quoted on the invoice.
