SEND Planning Tool: Using the Pre-Year 1 to Year 3 Mathematics Planning Tools 2026-27
This course explores the effective use of the Pre‑Year 1 to Year 3 SEND Planning Tools in mathematics, with a strong emphasis on the importance of secure foundations in early mathematical learning. Strong foundational understanding is essential for all pupils, particularly those with SEND, as gaps formed early can create significant barriers to future progress.
The Planning Tools have been developed to clearly outline the key knowledge, concepts and strategies needed to support progression from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to the Year 3 curriculum. They are specifically designed to help teachers identify where pupils’ understanding is secure, where it is less secure, and how learning can be carefully structured to move pupils forward.

Primary Mathematics Effective Teaching of Times Tables: Pedagogy, Progression and Practice 2026-27
This course is aimed at maths leaders or Lower Key Stage 2 year leaders, supporting them to develop a shared understanding of effective approaches to the teaching of times tables and to ensure consistent implementation across classrooms. Participants will explore key pedagogical principles, supporting subject knowledge and mental strategies drawn from the primary mathematics curriculum. Through engaging with the mathematics themselves, leaders will be equipped to support teachers to strengthen pupils’ conceptual understanding and secure the progression from understanding to mental fluency.
Please note: Following delivery of the half-day course, schools are able to book a one-hour bespoke virtual Teams meeting.
